Reflexology is a complementary therapy that is used for all ages and stages of life, it is a gentle non-invasive treatment that can be used to support your health and well-being.
Reflexology can be used alongside your normal health and well-being routine but medical advise may need to be sought first.
When you come for a reflexology treatment you will be asked to fill in a consultation form before any treatment can be given. Your first session will be a getting to know you treatment where I will give you a general and relaxing treatment. After this getting to know you through your consultation form, a chat and your feet I will then make your reflexology session individual to to you.
I am also trained to use reflexology sticks, this is a small wooded massage stick which allows me to get a little more pressure if needed in certain areas and also takes some of the pressure away from my hands.
'Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflexes in the feet relative to each and every organ and all parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way'
Eunice Ingham developed modern reflexology in the 1960's, she used reflex points across the foot to create the foot map as we know and use today (see above). As well as mapping the reflex points Ingham developed many of the techniques that we still use today.
